SuccessVisa is excited to inform our clients and prospective migrants about the opening of South Australia’s state-nominated skilled migration program for 2024-2025. This program offers a fantastic opportunity for skilled professionals to build their futures in one of Australia’s most vibrant states. Below is an overview of the program, including the available streams, eligible occupations, and key details for those considering South Australia as their next home.
South Australia’s Skilled Occupation List
The highly anticipated South Australia Skilled Occupation List is now available, highlighting the in-demand professions eligible for state nomination. The list plays a crucial role in determining the pathways available to applicants, whether onshore or offshore.
Onshore Streams
If you are currently residing in Australia and meet the eligibility requirements, you can now submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) to be considered for state nomination. The onshore streams offer a variety of pathways, depending on your background and commitment to South Australia:
-
Skilled Employment in South Australia Stream: For applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to South Australia through work experience in their skilled occupation within the state.
-
South Australian Graduates Stream: Designed to retain talent, this stream is perfect for those who have studied and are working in their skilled occupation within South Australia.
-
Outer Regional Skilled Employment Stream: This stream supports regional development by addressing skill shortages in South Australia’s outer regions. Applicants working in these areas in their nominated or closely related occupations are encouraged to apply.
A total of 464 occupations are available under these onshore streams, providing a wide range of opportunities for eligible applicants.
Offshore Stream
For skilled workers residing outside of Australia, the offshore stream presents a valuable opportunity to migrate to South Australia. South Australia is keen to attract experienced overseas professionals whose skills are in high demand.
With 427 occupations available through this stream, it is crucial for prospective migrants to ensure that their SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) is current, and South Australia is marked as the primary state of interest. The state plans to conduct regular offshore invitation rounds throughout the program year, starting from the program’s opening and continuing monthly from September 2024.
Business Innovation and Investment Program
Please note that South Australia is currently not accepting applications for state nomination under the Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188). However, business or investor migrants who already hold a provisional visa can apply for nomination for the extension stream or a permanent visa (subclass 888) if they meet the necessary requirements.
Employer Sponsored Programs
South Australia continues to support local employers through various employer-sponsored programs. These programs are designed to help employers fill vacancies that cannot be filled by the local labor market. For more details, visit the official South Australia website.
